Belgian Amb.: SCZONE has many serious investments

Belgian Ambassador to Egypt Francois Cornet d’Elzius said the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has many serious investments.

He underscored the necessity of boosting co-operation between the zone’s ports and Port of Antwerp in Belgium.

The Belgian diplomat’s remarks came at a meeting Monday with Chairman of SCZONE Walid Gamaleddin to probe ways of supporting and boosting joint co-operation.

Gamaleddin highlighted the main competition advantages in the zone, especially the six harbors at the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea, according to a statement by the zone.

He commended efforts exerted by the authority to develop its ports and raise the efficiency of its service to global levels.

He also pointed out to efforts exerted by the zone to localise green fuel industry in co-operation with senior international partners worldwide to further capitalise on resources of the zone and contribute to transition to green fuel globally.

The Belgian diplomat asserted the economic zone has enormous potentials to tap a new phase of cooperation and create good opportunities in the coming phase.
